I thought we were done with covid, but husband Stuart caught it a few weeks ago taking him a good two weeks to recover. This was despite having all of his covid boosters. We have heard of a growing number of people throughout the country who now have it. I hope no one else gets it.

It’s really nice and gives encouragement to the breed to see several new puppies out this summer. Kirsty Watts with her new puppy Vixen, 6 months and 16 days, at Northwich & District Open Show won BP and then won the gundog puppy group under judges Bev Dummett and group judge Carol Moore. Kirsty said in memory of Vixen’s great grandma Oakmarsh Acorn VW SGWC from her first ever litter she has called Vixen Oakmarsh Little Acorn.

I have not been to Blackpool Champ show for a few years, what a difference I saw. The first thing I noticed was how well organised everything was, with great help from all those involved running it. After a long journey it was good to find a lot of clean toilets just inside the gate and assistance with directions to rings. There were no benches but there is now an ever growing sea of crates which can make moving about a little difficult. There was a good amount of shops and hospitality vendors, although missing was the Blackpool Rock shop – I told all the boys in work that they would be having a stick of rock from Blackpool! A nice touch was the blue boat water troughs dotted around the show site at the water taps. Before I came home my pup had to have a roll in one of them. Another nice idea which was hugely appreciated and much used was the selfie photo stand at the side of the officials marquee, there was always a queue of exhibitors taking photos.

Mrs Pat Butler-Holley was awarding Chesapeakes CCs for the first time. 28 dogs entered 3a, 11d 17b, of these 7 were puppies and 6 were veterans! It was very nice to see so many puppies, 2d and 5b. Several people have been asking for eye testing, I have heard of a day on the 14th July at CS Veterinary Imaging Bridgend South Wales, 01639643188.

Madeline Cummings was thrilled to let me know the news that her boy Ir. & Int. SH CH Moyasta Decoyman with a long line of titles behind his name won the Green Star and RBOB gaining his Veteran Champion title at Banbridge & District Canine Club All Breeds Show. Decoyman is by Penrose Master Key x Penrose Nothing To Declare, bred by Alan Galvin. BOB, G3 & Green Star was Cummings’ Ir. SH CH Penrose Realta Eriu. The day before Moray Armstrong judged Chesapeakes at Portadown Canine Club All Breed Champ Show, BOB & Green Star Cummings’ Penrose Realta Eriu; RBOB & Green Star Cummings’ Moyasta Decoyman.

Please let me have any of your results or news.
