It has been an extremely hectic couple of weeks with keepers’ day, beaters’ days, employees’ days, tenants farmers’ days and the odd extra day squeezed in. I don’t think I have ever eaten so many sausage rolls and soups before. After a short rest it will be straight into training ready for next season.

2025 was a year of many highs and lows, the breed has continued to maintain a steady level, entries at Championship Shows with absentees averaged around 20, the exceptions being Crufts and The Club Show. Of course  a new treasurer and the finances are recovering.

Everyone in the dog world will have been shocked at the sad news that Martin Rees died suddenly the week before Christmas. Long time partner of Becky Johnson, he loved his dogs and enjoyed judging. After judging the CBRC Open Show he then went on to award his first CCs at LKA in 2021, awarding …
